Calgary Zone: Managing opioids in primary care CME
August 15, 2019
The Calgary Zone Opioid Response Initiative is offering a learning session on managing opioids in primary care on Tuesday, October 8, and again on Wednesday, October 9.
Each session includes an overview the opioid crisis and a workshop on the practical, evidence-based approach to managing opioid use disorder via the 2019 PEER Simplified Guideline: Managing Opioid Use Disorder in Primary Care.
In the OATrageously Rewarding Medicine – Treating Opioid Use Disorder in Primary Care workshop you will learn methods to introduce shared and informed decision-making with your patients regarding initiation of opioid agonist therapy.
Additionally, psychosocial supports, tapering of therapy, and management strategies (i.e., urine drug testing and contracts) will be discussed. Drs. Tina Korownyk and Jessica Kirkwood are the speakers.
The information sessions are open to all PCN physicians and network staff members. Please register for one of the two opportunities below.
