Confirmed case of measles prompts public alert

Alberta Health Services (AHS) has issued an alert after an individual carrying measles was in public settings while infectious, including the Bella Concert Hall at MRU, in Calgary and Cochrane.

Laboratory testing confirmed the person was infected as they visited numerous businesses between March 5 and March 12. Anyone in the listed locations during the noted time periods may have been exposed.

Individuals who were exposed on March 12, and who have no history of receiving any measles-containing vaccine, will be offered immunization Friday, March 15, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Brentwood Mall AHS Immunization Clinic.
